Greenpeace Australia: Bitte Toyota-Petition unterschreiben!

 

Last week was big!  We published our Toyota Files, exposing the car manufacturer’s international reputation for working to delay climate action, and our colleagues at Greenpeace East Asia released their annual Auto Environmental Guide, which placed Toyota at the back of the pack on climate action. Did you see them? "D'oh, what a feeling: Toyota slammed in global environmental rankings." - Sydney Morning Herald, 8 September 2022   Our research shows that there’s a strong risk Toyota could work to weaken and slow Australia’s transition to cleaner, safer electric vehicles based on their international track record.  Together, we can tell Toyota that the lobbying needs to stop. Will you join us and more than 5,000 Australians calling for change, Ueli?   Sign the petition   "Australia's most popular car maker is trailing the pack when it comes to climate credentials." - ABC News, 8 September 2022   The Auto Environmental Guide rankings were in the news all over the world last week, alerting Australians to Toyota’s international reputation for anti-climate lobbying, and their commitment to petrol-powered vehicles which leaves them lagging behind the industry. Read more in the Sydney Morning Herald, ABC News, and Drive.   Australia has a long way to go to catch up to the rest of the world on the electric vehicle transition and we can’t let big companies like Toyota become a roadblock to action on our rising transport emissions.   Tell Toyota to get on board with electric vehicles, and let Australia get on with the job of cleaning up our transport emissions.    Sign the petition
